Hi all!

I'm Sloan. Okay, to be honest, that's not my real name, but let me make up for that subterfuge with some real details about me. I'm a 30+ dude (he/him). I live in Hungary, I'm an IT guy, though that hasn’t always been the case. I'm not a writer, yet writing has always been an essential part of my life, although not this kind of writing. I've been a TTRPG dungeon master since I was 11 years old, and it forever bummed me that only 5-6 people heard my stories. This had forever been a hole in my heart, and it eventually led me to find other outlets for my creativity, hence this book was born. Some of my friends asked me why I didn't write a fully original fantasy story. The short answer is this: No Help Coming was a test to see if I could write something good. Truth be told, I had unsuccessful attempts at writing in the past, and I felt I would have lost inspiration if I had the threat of traditional publishing’s hardship or the brutal competitiveness of self-publishing hanging over my head. To remedy this, I decided to write for a bigger fandom, which already had an established fanbase, so I could leverage that fanbase to get readers. I did not want to make money or become published; instead, my focus was to write something that is easily accessible. No Help Coming was supposed to be just a short story, something to post on AO3 so I could get some feedback, but 3 years went by and the story grew into a novel. More, it wanted to become a novel, at least that’s how I feel about it. This had been the single most important work project in my life, and I’m really happy that I can share it with you. I can only hope that it can be a valuable addition to the amazing stories that have been written for Runeterra so far.
